Asheville, NC

Reynolds Mountain is located just north of Asheville, North Carolina deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the French Broad River Valley.  Asheville is known for excellent road connectivity where Interstates 26 and 40 intersect and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway traverses the city.  Close (only two hours) to the large metro areas of Charlotte, NC, Knoxville, TN and Greenville, SC, and Atlanta, GA is less than 4 hours away. The city regularly appears in national lists as one of the top cities in the arts, business climate, outdoor recreation opportunities, retirement, manufacturing, and quality of life.

Tourism – Asheville enjoys a large annual tourism impact with nearly 3 million visitors each year. The city is home to nationally-acclaimed Biltmore Estates and Winery and thousands flock to the mountain area each year to enjoy hiking, biking, fly-fishing, camping and hunting. Visitors and residents alike savor the culturally-rich mountain area with its exceptional restaurants, craft breweries, exemplary arts programs and music festivals.

Education – The city is home to nine universities, colleges and technical schools including UNC Asheville.  The Asheville area maintains high standards of excellence in education with Asheville High ranked as one of the top 100 high schools in the United States.

Medical – Serviced by Mission Health System, the hospital system is Asheville’s second largest employer with over 3,000 employees.  Asheville is also home to Charles George VA Medical Center, which services 100,000 veterans in 19 counties of Western NC.

Retirement – In 2009, US News and World Report ranked Asheville as one of the “Most Affordable Places to Retire.”  In 2010, TopRetirement.com, named Asheville at number one on its list of “Most Popular Retirement Towns.”

Manufacturing – Despite a sluggish economy, Asheville continues to add jobs in the automotive and green industry areas.  This past year, Linamar Corporation, an automotive supplier, announced an $80 million investment in Asheville that will bring 400 new jobs. Asheville prides itself on supporting approximately 13,000 clean industry jobs with revenues of $3.5 billion.
