Parks and Recreation Magazine shined a light on Woodfin's renovation of the Roy Pope Memorial Park two years ago. The article, entitled "Playgrounds Revived," also mentioned similar projects in Atlanta and Richmond, Virginia. Roy Pope Memorial Park was renovated in part with contributions to the Avery King Foundation and includes a special Avery's Little Corner playground.
The park is located at 90 Elk Mountain Road, behind the Woodfin Town Hall is open 7 days a week from 5:00am to 10:00pm.
