The fall of 2011 has witnessed good activity in sales and leasing at Reynolds Mountain with two new construction villas in the Views closing and a third and final new construction villa residence, 17 Point Bluff Drive listed at $950,000 drawing excellent interest and activity but has not closed as of this posting. Over 300 residents, town center merchants, food suppliers and real estate professionals gathered on October 4, 2011 at the intersections of Senator Reynolds Boulevard and North Merrimon Avenue in the heart of Reynolds Village to listen and dance the night away to the Common Saints, a popular dance band from Asheville. Wonderful displays of culinary delights were provided by the Baja Café, World’s Greatest Carrot Cake, The Hop Ice Cream Café, Ursa Minor Coffee, and The Lowdown Gourmet Food Truck. A special catered event was held in the beautiful new Leasing Office for the Lofts at Reynolds Village and the Reynolds Mansion Bed and Breakfast Inn hosted visitors for an open house tour of their unmatched facilities. The party was a great celebration of the progress and transformation that Reynolds Village has undergone over the past few years featuring the new additions of:
- AvL Technologies, Inc. with over 170 employees in the Village,
- The renovation and opening of the Reynolds Mansion Bed and Breakfast Inn,
- The completion of the 45,000 square foot North Merrimon Avenue building with 14 tenants including the successful Neighborhood YMCA at Woodfin,
- The progress on the 201 Lofts at Reynolds Village luxury apartments which are rising in the Village.

Rising in Reynolds Village are the Lofts, six, mixed use luxury apartment buildings, which will include 201 apartments and nearly 65,000 square feet in street level office, retail and restaurant space. Two of the six building have been completed and the entire series of six four-story buildings will be completed in 2012. The ongoing commercial development, known as Reynolds Village, is located at the foot of Reynolds Mountain residential development and will include a business park, anchored by AvL Technologies, a town square, street level parking, green space, wide sidewalks and plazas, and outdoor dining and gathering areas. This project will provide the primary element of a planned downtown corridor for the Town of Woodfin in Reynolds Village.
Reynolds Village was initially funded by the creation of a TIF District (Tax Incremental Funding) through the allocation of Tax Incremental Revenue. The development group worked with leaders from the Town of Woodfin, Buncombe County and the State of North Carolina to secure only the second TIF project statewide. In addition to AvL Technologies, Reynolds Village tenants include the YMCA, CarePartners, ResCare, Edward Jones and several local businesses.
The project architect is PDI Architecture of Pendelton, SC, Samet Corporation from Greensboro is the general contractor and Asheville firm Samsel Architects is providing exterior and interior design services.

The Reynolds Mountain home of Ron and Nancy Edgerton is featured in this month's issue of Carolina Home + Garden. Designed by Samsel Architects, the home is a stunning tribute to Arts & Crafts architecture in the style of Greene & Greene.
As true patrons of local arts and non-profit organizations, the Edgertons often host fundraising and awareness raising events in their home. The article also highlights the use of green building techniques, local building materials, geo-thermal heating and cooling and Energy Star appliances.
